Travel in our modern vehicles
We have our own two Private Ambulances that we use to collect your loved one from the place of death and convey to our Private Chapel of Rest. They are fully equipped and sign written and have blacked out side and rear windows for complete privacy.
For the day of your funeral we have our brand new energy efficient and greener self-charging hybrids. Welcome to our Norwood Hearse and two Rosedale Limousines. The Limousines each seat six passengers and each have a division for privacy from the staff travelling in the front if desired. We are also able to supply further matching limousines should they be required.
Please note that all of our fleet are highly polished in a black gloss finish.
There are many other modes of transport which are used at funerals, such as Motorbike and Side Car, Horse and Hearse, Tractor and Trailer and Trucks, to mention but a few, which can sometimes say more about your loved one. We are able to procure these for you, however, they would cost more than our own fleet.
Whitmey Funeral Ambulances
Whitmey Funeral Ambulances were specialized vehicles that served a dual purpose of both transporting the deceased for funeral services. In the early-to-mid 20th century, it was common for funeral homes to operate ambulances, as the funeral industry already had specialized vehicles for transporting people and corpses, making it a practical extension of their services.
We offer a Horse Drawn Hearse
Whitmey Funerals offer a Horse Drawn Hearse for those who would like a traditional horse drawn funeral. We usually use a pair of beautiful horses to pull the hearse which are expertly looked after by our team.
Whitmey Funerals Hybrid vehicles
The use of hybrid vehicles in funerals aligns with the broader trend toward “green funerals,” which emphasize environmentally responsible practices, from biodegradable caskets to eco-friendly transport options. Hybrid hearses allow funeral homes to provide a service that honors both the deceased and environmental concerns.
